CMT's next Open House will be on Saturday, November 5th, so mark it in your calendars!

Come on down and see the projects we are working on and to meet the members. The club will be open from 10 am to 4 pm Saturday, November 5th.

Donations welcome.

Update: Members of the Calgary Eurorail Express (CEE) will also be in attendance this Saturday and will be displaying a European-themed module layout. The club was formed in 2008 and focuses on European model railroading.

]]>CMT SUPERTRAIN Updatehttp://www.calgarymodeltrainmen.ca/home/2011/5/12/cmt-supertrain-update.htmlCalgary Model Trainmen2011-05-13T00:53:02ZThe Calgary Model Railroad Society (CMRS) recently hosted its annual SUPERTRAIN show on April 16th and 17th. The show was an overwhelming success. It brought in the highest attendance on record and attracted some very well done layouts and displays. Major commercial exhibitors such as Athearn, Rapido Trains, and Hobbycraft Canada / True Line Trains were also in attendance.

CMT displayed its updated and smaller module layout (see a few pictures below). This was a great opportunity for the club to interact with the public and it was a great experience for the club members.

We have made progress on several areas of the layout such as the White Mountains and Smith Falls (see Project Updates for pictures) as well as various electrical and track upgrades and repairs.

The club has also voted to attend SUPERTRAIN 2011 with a module layout. This years show will be held on April 16th and 17th, 2011 (more information can be found here). SUPERTRAIN 2011 is an annual show held in Calgary, Alberta that has been held since 1995 and is presented by the Calgary Model Railway Society.

The club is excited to be attending the show once again and work has already begun on the modules we will be bringing to the show. Work begins on the club's 2011 SUPERTRAIN display
